                   ABOUT ME

Hello!  I am very excited to be teaching CCR  grades K-2 at Wilburn Elementary School this  year and working with your children. This is my 20th  year teaching  special education. I moved down from Massachusetts 7 years ago with my husband David, and we built a house in Clayton. We really enjoy living in North Carolina!

                              Educational Background

I earned a B.A. in psychology from St. Michael's College in Vermont.  Soon after, I went on to earn a masters degree in counseling psychology  at Lesley University in Cambridge, M. A.  I really enjoyed doing play therapy with children and being a special education teacher assistant during my internships at therapeutic day schools. Then I decided, since I enjoyed teaching so much, to pursue my master's degree in special education at Framingham State College in M.A. I have worked at The May Center for Education and Neurorehabilitation with brain injured students ages 5-21 as a senior teacher for 7  years, taught 5 years in an ED 1 room, and taught CCR for 7 years in  Wake County, North Carolina.  Teaching is my passion. I plan to  continue providing a caring, nurturing environment, where  all students will be able to learn and feel safe.
